How to Start Playing Lumi Master

Your first goal is not to chase a perfect roster. Learn the catch loop, read the four aptitude values, and build a team that can cover the next encounter.

01

Learn the catch loop

Exploration reveals nearby Lumi through Starlit Energy. When one is found, use the Starlit Compass and a Lumi Card to make the catch. The compass displays a catch rate before you commit.

The tutorial's first catch is set to 100%. Later catches have their own displayed odds, so there is value in returning to a species when you want a stronger aptitude roll.

02

Read a Lumi before investing

Open its Lumidex profile and check type, role, four aptitude values, trait, and skills. Attack, Defense, and HP matter in battle; Work identifies its non-combat specialty.

A stronger-looking number is only one part of the decision. A useful type matchup or low-cost skill can matter more than a small stat difference in the next fight.

03

Make a simple first team

Start with the Lumi you have, then avoid stacking the same weakness when you add new members. Before a hard fight, use the type chart to decide who should enter first.

The team gains additional slots at exploration levels 5 and 8. That makes early coverage and reliable switching more useful than trying to force a single favorite Lumi into every encounter.

04

A first-session checklist

After the tutorial catch, compare the type and four aptitude values on the profile before deciding where it fits. Keep a small group with different answers rather than spending every resource on the first familiar name.

Use the first difficult encounter as a test. If the lead is resisted, consult the type chart and change the next team slot to cover that problem. The additional slots at exploration levels 5 and 8 make this adjustment easier.
